Do you think parents should have the right to smack their children?
The UK's four child commissioners have written to Education Secretary Ruth Kelly calling for a total ban on the smacking of children.
Earlier this month Prime Minister Tony Blair admitted to smacking his older children but not his youngest, Leo.
Should there be a total ban on smacking? Is this an infringement on civil liberties? Does the present law, which permits the use of mild smacking as "reasonable punishment", go far enough? Send us your comments.
